The National Union of Mineworkers, a founding affiliate of the Ukraine Solidarity Campaign has delivered crucial aid to the NGPU( Independent Trade Union of Mineworkers of Ukraine).
A vehicle funded by an appeal undertaken by the Ukraine Solidarity Campaign was delivered by Chris Kitchen, NUM General Secretary and Wayne Thomas South Wales NUM secretary. The solidarity delegation included Mick Antoniw MS and a founder of USC and leading organiser of aid to Ukraine from Wales.
The vehicle was delivered to Anatoliy Chornyi a representative of the NGPU and Assistant Detachment Commander of the Tenth Paramilitary Mining Rescue Squad in the frontline Donetsk Oblast.


The mission also delivered thousands of pounds of crucial winter kit for union members in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the frontline, being distributed by the Step to Victory humanitarian volunteer initiative in the city of Shakhtarske.
The Step to Victory centre is led by Lidia Galkina, the head of the primary branch of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine of the Toshkivska mine in the now occupied Luhansk region. Lidia was forced to fled to in the Dnipropetrovsk region due to the Russian invaders
